Robert W. "Bob" Bell, 90, Springfield, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield.
He was born April 6, 1931 in Des Moines, Iowa the son of the late Ralph and Clara (Wissler) Bell.
Bob joined the U.S. Marine Corps as a young man. He started his career with Springfield Metal Building Company in Springfield and years later was co-owner of Bell Building Systems as a commercial builder in Springfield. He was a member the Abou Adhem Shrine, which was very close to his heart, and where he was active in the Ring Club.
He loved to play golf and most of all loved being surrounded by his family, friends and community. He spent his semi-retirement years away from Springfield in Durango, Colorado and Prescott, Arizona. He made each place his own, being involved in community happenings and serving as city councilman in Prescott for many years. He moved back to Springfield in July, 2021.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Thompson Grassi in 2008.
A graveside memorial service with full military honors, was held Monday, April 18, 2022 at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Springfield.
