David L. McDaniel, 74 of Quincy, Illinois passed away at 3:50 a.m., Friday, April 15, 2022 at Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, Illinois. He was born on February 22, 1948 in Jacksonville, IL the son of the late Lawrence and Della Alexander McDaniel. He married Rita Fitzjarrald on November 24, 1967 in Jacksonville, IL. She survives along with (1) son Alva " Chip" McDaniel & Kimberly of Chestnut, IL, (2) grandchildren, Cody & K.J Simmons of Lincoln, IL, (3) great grandchildren, (1) brother, Dale McDaniel of Springfield, IL (3) sisters, Beverly Anderson of Springfield, IL Tecia Hennessy of Lincoln, IL and Karen McDaniel of Peoria, IL. He was preceded in death by (2) sons, John Robert and Christopher McDaniel, (1) brother, Lawrence McDaniel. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran and a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was a member of the Tri-State Lugnuts Car Club and an avid collector of classic cars. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Worthington Funeral Home with Mr. David Haney officiating. Interment will follow in Rushville City Cemetery with Military Honors by Schuyler American Legion Post 4 and a US Army Honors Detail. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Illinois Veteran Home at Quincy Activity Fund
