Berta Taylor Taft, 84, of Bicknell, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2003 in Richfield, Utah.
She was born October 27, 1918 in Fremont, Utah, a daughter of Glen Ellison and Dortha May Morrell Taylor.
She married Kay S. Taft, August 8, 1947 in Fremont, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple September 10, 1963. He died January 21, 1969.
Berta was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in many capacities. She worked as a cook at the Sunglow Cafe in Bicknell for many years.
Berta is survived by two sons and a daughter; Glen Dee Taft, Elvin Kay and Rebecca Lynn Taft, all of Bicknell; Dortha Jane and Jerry R. Chappell of Lyman, 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Arnold and Jaleen Taylor of Logan, Utah; Talmage and Veniece Taylor, Leo and Jeri Taylor, all of Sandy, Utah; Dick and Joan Taylor of Fremont; Dent and Sheryl Taylor of Phoenix, Arizona; Faye (Clyde, deceased) Behunin of Torrey; Blanche and John Brinkerhoff of Bicknell; Loma (Eugene, deceased) Blackburn of Loa; JoAnn ( Maynard, deceased) Erickson of Tucson, Arizona. Brothers and sisters-in-law, Mack and Hazel Taft of Roy, Utah; Ethel and Marvin Peterson of Richfield; Clifford and Loree Olsen of Loa. She was preceded in death by four brothers; Mell and Bonita Taylor, Hyrum Taylor, Kay Taylor, Glen Devoy Taylor, and a sister May Taylor.
Funeral services Saturday, August 9, 2003 1:00 P.M., Thurber LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. prior to services. Burial, Bicknell Cemetery. Directors, Springer Turner Funeral Homes, Richfield, Salina, and Gunnison.
