A graveside funeral service for Mr. Victor Hugo Smith, Jr., who entered into rest on Saturday, October 9, 2021, will be held at 11 o'clock on Friday, October 22, 2021, at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Jim Chandler will officiate, and the family will receive friends following the service. Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Directors are caring for the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to Bethany Baptist Church, 1146 Manville-Saint Charles Road, Bishopville, SC 29010.
Vic was born in Hartsville, SC. He was a son of the late Victor Hugo Smith, Sr., and the late Etta Mae Lee Smith. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. He worked as a steel fabricator at several steel plants during his life, to included B. L. Montague Co. and Owens Steel, where he retired. Vic enjoyed sports, especially baseball.
He is survived by his brothers, Thomas L. Smith of Mayesville, SC, Gerald G. Smith (Deborah) of Columbia, SC; sister, Faye S. McLeod of Mayesville, SC; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William J. Smith of Columbia, SC.
