Funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at Sunrise United Methodist Church, Sunset Lake Road, Holly Springs. Interment will follow at Wake Chapel Memorial Gardens in Fuquay-Varina.
Brenda was a native of Johnston County, the daughter of the late Johnnie and Viola Beasley. She was a founding charter member of Sunrise United Methodist Church in Holly Springs where she served as a trustee and in many other leadership roles in the early years of the church. She loved her Sunday School class and all of her church family. She was affectionately known as "Mama Brenda" to many in the church. Brenda was a life member of the NCSU Alumni Association and shared her husband's love of Wolfpack Football. Brenda loved trips to Myrtle Beach. She loved beach music and shag dancing with her husband. Brenda was a special person, outgoing and loving to every one she met. She was a wonderful wife and mother, loving every minute she could spend with her son. She was so caring to other people and anyone in need. She loved just socializing with friends and acquaintances. She loved her flowers, quilting and many other hobbies.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Billy Ray Beasley and Lyndell Beasley, a sister, Shirley Watkins and brother-in-law, Bobby Watkins.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Larry Francis; her son and her beloved dog, "Sissy"; She also survived by sister, sister in law and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Saturday, February 21, 2009 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, 401 N. Ennis Street, Fuquay-Varina and other times at the home, 345 Fieldstone Drive, Holly Springs.
Flowers are welcome, or memorial contributions may be made to Sunrise United Methodist Church Building Fund.
