Jean Arlene (Croft) Wiley, 83, a long-time resident of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away at Kansas City Hospice House on October 1st, 2011.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, October 4th, at St. Thomas More Parish, 11822 Holmes Road. Visitation will be held at Mt. Moriah and Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road on Monday, October 3rd, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Jean Arlene Croft was born May 4, 1928 in Omaha, Nebraska to Rollin Francis Croft and Vera May (Larsen) Croft.

She volunteered as an aide at St. James Orphanage as a teen, graduated from Benson High School, and later became a member of the Omaha Secretarial Association. Jean wed Thomas R. Wiley on September 7, 1948 in Omaha and moved to Ames, Iowa for two years. In 1950 they moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she and her husband raised their family of six children for the remainder for their lives. Along with her husband Thomas, Jean was actively involved in the Ward Parkway Country Club, was an avid bridge player, gardener, incredible cook and homemaker. Jean worked for B&E Product sales as a secretary for over twenty years before retiring in 2001.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Thomas after forty years of marriage.

She is survived by her brother, Donald S. Croft of Omaha, Nebraska; sister, Cynthia Jean Agman and husband, Rick, of Fairfield, California; children, Maureen Lynne Harley and husband, Wayne, of Houston, Texas, Christie Lee Cochran and husband, Danny, of Spring Hill, Kansas, Michael Thomas Wiley and wife, Mary, of Spring Hill, Kansas, Joanne Rae Morgan and husband, Steve, of Spring Hill, Kansas, Michelle Rolene Vint and husband, Robert, of Olathe, Kansas, and David Scott Wiley of Kansas City, Missouri. Jean has been blessed with nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; in-laws, Delores Gorman (Wiley) and her husband Russ of Corvallis, Oregon, Don Wiley and his wife Elaine of Salem, Oregon, as well as nephews and a niece.

Jean will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a dear friend to everyone - she will be missed.
