She loved God and her church. She was the beginner Sunday School teacher for many years at Catawba Free Will Baptist Church. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a member of South Point FWB Church, where she sang in a trio with her family. She loved to cook, go camping, and was the horseshoe champion at Ti-Caro. She retired from Dixie Yarns where she was a winder tender. She delivered meals on wheels and fed the street people of Gastonia once a month.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Ray Allen Lambert, Sr.; her daughter, Renea Hargett (Wesley) of Mount Holly; sons, Mark Lambert of Mount Holly; and Tommy Lambert (Heather) of N. Belmont; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a great-great grandson who is due in September; her 3 brothers, Eddie Thomas, L.T. Thomas, and Guy Thomas; and her fur babies, Ally, Lindsey, and Millie.
The family will greet guests from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2022, at Woodlawn Funeral Home of Mount Holly. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at South Point Free Will Baptist Church, 297 Gaither Rd., Belmont, NC 28012. Pastors Michael Byrd, Terry Thomas, and James Townsend will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mount Holly.
A special thanks to Gaston Hospice, Wanda Buchanon, Claudette Cookson, and Dora James. Also to her granddaughters, Shea Kegley and Jessica Ross, and her grandson, Caleb Lambert for the special care they gave their grandmaw. She loved her family.
