Lee Edmond Wells, age 88, of Crocket passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at the Houston County Nursing Home. Lee was born May 20, 1933 in Blackjack, Texas to parents, Charles "Charlie" Wells and Myrtie Mae Crumb Wells. He worked as a 1st Class Lineman for the Houston County Coop retiring after 26 years. Lee coached Crockett Merchants Little League for many years and also served as Vice President. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Lee is survived by wife of 68 years, Doris Banks Wells of Crockett; sons, Michael Wells and wife, Kristen of Grapeland, Stephen Wells and wife, Debbie of Lovelady; grandchildren, Stuart Wells of Lovelady, Shaun Wells of Crockett, Shevin Wells of Crockett; great-grandchildren, Allen Wells, Aaron Wells, Alexia Wells, Ryndi Wells, Raylee Wells, Bellarae Wells; special brother-in-law, John Banks of Houston; sisters-in-law, Maxine Morehead of Lufkin, Jean Bohannon of Clear Lake, Linda Bobbitt and husband, Roy Lee of Grapeland; special nephew, Bob Shotwell of Pennington; numerous other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by parents, Charlie and Myrtie Wells; brother, Charles Wells, Leon Wells, Odell Wells; sisters, Florene Walker and Peggy Shotwell.
Funeral services for Lee Edmond Wells will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2022 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Bro. Roy Lee Bobbitt officiating. Interment to follow at the Weches Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Callaway-Allee Funeral Home.
