Mrs. Mary Sue (Guthrie) May, resident of Birdeye, Arkansas, departed this life on Saturday, October 17, 2020, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro at the age of 71. Mary was born in Bradford on November 28, 1948, the daughter of Troy Guthrie and Ruby Sue (Vanwinkle) Guthrie.

Mary and Mr. Jimmy Dale May were united in marriage on December 7, 1964, and cherished 50 years together prior to Jim's death in 2014. Mary was a homemaker and of the Christian faith. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and fishing.

Mrs. May was preceded in death by her husband, Jim May; parents, Troy and Ruby Guthrie; a brother, Bobby Guthrie; a sister, Linda Pole; and a son-in-law, Wayne Heather.

She is survived by a son; two daughters; three brothers; two sisters; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2020, at Moncrief Cemetery near Vanndale. Friends may visit at the cemetery from 1:30 p.m. to service time.

Donations may be made to Moncrief Cemetery, 3202 Hwy 163, Cherry Valley, AR 72324.
