Gary continued his education after graduating high school earning an oil and gas engineering degree from Wharton Junior College. Gary retired from Tenneco Gas after 32 years of employment.
Gary is survived by his wife Carol Sue Thomas; daughter Vickie Lee and son-in-law Steve Lee of Hempstead, Texas; grandson Kyle Lee and wife Amy; great grandchildren Raelynn Lee and Kutter Lee of Hempstead, Texas. His family was his world.
Gary was a man of few words who took great pride in living a simple life in the little house on the hill as we call it in Weimar, Texas. He was a loving husband and father of 62 years leaving behind years of cherished memories and a void that can never be filled. Gary will be missed greatly, although his memory will always be alive in our hearts.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus, Texas with James Cooper officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Henneke Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at Speaks Cemetery in Speaks, Texas.
Memorials may be given to Cowboy Church of Brenham, P.O. Box 2516, Brenham, TX 77834 or the charity of your choice.
