From Schaetter Funeral Home:

Stanley Joseph Jenschke passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at the age of 87. Stanley was born in San Antonio to Bruno Jenschke and Annida Becker Jenschke on September 29, 1934.

Stanley married Shirley Helen Crenwelge on June 18, 1960, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fredericksburg and she survives him.

Stanley is survived by three daughters and their spouses: Judy and Ricky Kirkland of Cedar Creek, TX; Karen and Clayton Raven of Lake LBJ; and JoNell and Bob Johnson of Fredericksburg, TX.

Survivors also include seven grandchildren: Clay Raven and wife Corlee; Cody Raven and wife, Caitlyn; Amy Fajkus and husband Colter; Kyle Kirkland and Lisa Cullen; Bobby Johnson; Tommy Johnson; and Charlie Johnson; and six great-grandchildren: Cole, Dean, and Isla Fajkus; Bradie and Colt Raven; and Rhett Raven.

He is also survived by one brother, Clayton Jenschke and wife Jeanie of San Antonio, one sister-in-law Winnie Crenwelge of Fredericksburg and numerous nieces and nephews.

Stanley is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Kermit Jenschke and Clinton Jenschke, and one brother-in-law Victor Crenwelge.

Stanley grew up in San Antonio but always looked forward to coming to Fredericksburg to see his grandparents and other relatives. He grew to love the Hill Country and eventually met his wife of 61 years there. Together they raised their three daughters who he lovingly referred to as his three roses. Stanley served honorably in the United States Army for two terms and for a period was stationed overseas.

Stanley was a Journeyman Electrician by trade, but he really enjoyed going to the ranch after work and on the weekends to check on the cattle and goats. He loved hunting season best and even hunted during this last season. He passed on his knowledge of hunting, jerky and sausage making to his sons-in-law and grandchildren. He enjoyed all the deer stories, reunions, weddings, and even funerals. He could talk to anyone and was always interested in what they had to say. Earlier in life, Stanley and Shirley enjoyed going to the country dances and later enjoyed the many gambling trips by bus with family. He enjoyed drinking a cold one with his friends and his happiest moments were when he could be with his family who lovingly called him "Opie".

Faith was important to him. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the St. Joseph's Society.

Family will greet friends on Wednesday, April 20th from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. followed by a rosary service. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 20th, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, followed by entombment in the St. Mary's Catholic Mausoleum.

Fellowship will follow at St. Mary's Holy Family Center.

Pallbearers included his grandsons, Clay and Cody Raven, Kyle Kirkland, and Bobby, Tommy, and Charlie Johnson.

Memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the St. Mary's School Endowment Fund, the Doss Volunteer Fire Department, Loving Care, or to the charity of your choice.
