Elizabeth Ann McDermott (Liz), age 84 found eternal peace on July 5, 2020 in Kalamazoo, MI. Liz was born November 5, 1935 in Torch Lake Township, MI, the daughter of Joseph and Lena (Boals) Nemec. July 26, 1952, she married Lewis Wright, Sr., who preceded her in death in 1959. September 24, 1960, she married Joseph Stanley McDermott. She retired as a physical therapy aid from Grandvue in 1996. She then volunteered as a Foster Grandparent through Catholic Human Services for many years at the Headstart programs in Mancelona and East Jordan, MI.

She was an avid gardener, baker, knitter, pickler and a devoted Grandmother. She will be missed daily by all who loved her.

Surviving are her three children Lewis (Alcione) Wright, Jr., Cathy (Randy) Griffore, Jody Purifoy; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister Judy Nicklas; brother Charles (Margaret) Nemec; several nieces and nephews. Liz was preceded in death by her parents, step parents and two brothers Gary and David Nemec.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held in Hot Springs, AR July 10 and a second celebration will be held in East Jordan, MI at a later date. Memorials in Elizabeth's memory may be directed to Grandvue Medical Care Facility in East Jordan, MI.
