Jamie was the son of Johnnie L. Mumphery and Beulah Ford Pate. He was educated in the Crisp County School System and was a Class of 1990 graduate of Crisp County High School in Cordele, Georgia. He was a big Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
He was married to Ruth Renee Collins. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Jenice Smith and Susie Coleman.
