FUNERAL SERVICES
HELD TUESDAY FOR
LOUIS BOLDT
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb 14, at 2:30 p.m., at the Church
of Christ, for Louis Boldt. Pastor Sidney L. Schuler officiated, assisted
by Rev. Albert Wluff of Audubon. Mr. Boldt died Saturday afternoon at his
home.
Soloist was Milton Barry, accompanied by Mrs. Barry.
Pallbearers were John L Steenhusen, George Steenhusen, Peter Steenhusen
Jr., Henry Paulsen, Leonard Anderson and Carl Lang (?). Burial was in Oak
Hill cemetery. Ohde Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Louis Peter Boldt, son of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Boldt, pioneers of
Shelby county, was born February 23, 1881 at Avoca, and died on February
11, 1961, at the age of 79 years, 14 months, and 18 days.
As a young man, with three of his brothers, he moved to Miller S. D.,
where they farmed for 33 years, returning to Irwin in 1936. He located on
a farm southwest of Irwin, which he occupied until the time of his death.
On September 30, 1955, he was married to Mrs. Anna Kohl of Walnut.
He is survived by his wife: five stepchildren, William Kohl of Logan,
Warren Kohl of Portsmouth, Mrs. John Kenny of Hays, Kans., Mrs. Raymond
Anderson of Botna and Mrs. Martinius Christensen of Harlan; three brothers,
Fred, Chris and Ernest, and several nieces and nephews.
