Rotha Lou Adams, 84, of LeFlore, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, April 11, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 16, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Jones Harkins Funeral Home Chapel in Wilburton, Oklahoma.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2022 at the Thessalonian Baptist Church in Red Oak, Oklahoma with Reverend Melvin Palmer officiating. The burial will follow at the Thessalonian Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Adams, Clayton Mathis, Dustin Mathis, Andrew Adams, Willie Prock, and Stanley Raymond, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Kennedy, Vince Baker, Roger Coley, Mark Carshall, Jesse Ingle, Dewayne Mackey, Butch Hotella, Anthony Adams, Jimmy Battiest, Jackie Box, Bruce Battiest, Haskell Bonaparte, and Little Red Mackey, III.

Rotha was born on October 29, 1937 in LeFlore, Oklahoma to Raymond Mackey, Sr. and Frances (Sam) Mackey. She married Daniel Adams on August 3, 1960 in Poteau, Oklahoma.

Rotha was "Granny" to a lot of people, not only to her children, but to adults as well.

She was a strong lady, wife, mother of great faith, full of love to her husband, Daniel of 60 years, to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and the rest of her family.

She enjoyed watching her children's and grandchildren's ballgames, and other activities in which they were involved. She not only was involved in her children's activities, but went to singings with her husband, Dan, for many, many years until his passing. Rotha also sang with Native Praise Choir for several years, making trips to different states including, England.

Rotha was a member of the Thessalonian Baptist church. She was faithful in serving God, a quiet person, but her actions spoke louder than words. She served as Sunday School Secretary for many years, always involved and supported UMU, Vacation Bible School serving as refreshment leader, which she enjoyed. She was always serving, especially in the camp house kitchen, where coffee was always made, and known for her fried potatoes, but recently had to slow down due to her health.

Rotha is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years: Daniel Adams, Sr, her parents: Raymond and Frances (Sam) Mackey; her sons: Jimmy Ray Adams, Thomas Dale Adams, and David Earl Adams; her brothers: Arthur Mackey, Raymond Mackey, Jr., and Talton Lee Mackey; and her sisters: Yvonne Sue Adams, Hilda Ruth Carshall, and Martha Mae Battiest.

She is survived by her children: Danny and Kim Adams of Heavener, Doyle and Crystal Adams of Red Oak, Brenda Adams and Vince Baker of Hartshorne, Carolyn and Butch Hotella of Talihina, and Renee Adams of Poteau; her grandchildren: Jonathan Adams, Cindy Kennedy, Katrina Prock, Dustin Mathis, Clayton Mathis, Angela James, Destiny Mathis, Andrew Adams, Lydia Hotella, and Courtney Adams; her four great grandchildren: Hoyt Prock, Evan Prock, Kade Prock, and Jaslynn Prock; her sister: Mary Coley and husband, Joe of Wilburton; 3 sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
