In later years she was employed by Hoffmann LaRoche, where she worked in the cafeteria. Joyce's life-long passion was cooking and reading cookbooks. Her enjoyment of cooking and baking led her to become a member of the Harmony Township Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She was well-known for always making coleslaw for the dinners they hosted. She was also a member of the Roxburgh Grange and enjoyed cooking at their booth during the Warren County Farmers Fair. She entered several of her best recipes at the fair and in other cooking contests, as well. In recent years she volunteered for the Harmony Township Lions Club, helping to prepare food at their booth during the Warren County Farmers Fair.
Anyone who knew Joyce also knew she had a great passion for playing Bingo. She could be found almost every Saturday evening at the Harmony Firehouse for their bingo night. She was wiling to play anywhere or anytime and often spoke of the bingo bus trip she had taken. Her fondest memories and experiences about which she reminisced often, were the vacations she had taken with her husband, Jack, and their lifelong best friends, Bill and Erma.
She is survived by her three children; son Roy Clarence Garrison (wife, Brenda) of Harmony Township-Phillipsburg; daughters Donna Smith (husband, Charles) of Harmony Township-Phillipsburg and Kathy Muto (husband, Allen) of Fogelsville, PA; as well as seven grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services and burial are private under the direction of the Doyle-Devlin Funeral Home, Inc.
