Hagen, Nancy Jean Hagen, Nancy Jean was born on January 31, 1948 to Gaetano (Tony) and Iva (Williams) Russo. Born more than two months premature, Nancy came into this world as a fighter and was a fighter all the way to the end. Nancy grew up in the Muskegon area, graduating from North Muskegon High School in 1966. She attended MCC, where she studied Dental Assisting. In 1965, she met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Hagen, and they married on April 25, 1970. For the next 52 years, Bob and Nancy lived their own adventure; raising four children, owning their own business, and running a hobby farm. They enjoyed traveling to all 50 states, and many countries all around the world. She was a caregiver her entire life, so when her grandchildren were born, Nancy began babysitting her grandchildren. She wanted to help her kids, but it was also important to her to be a part of her grandchildren's lives. It wasn't just her six grandchildren that she cared for, she would also care for her "unofficial" grandkids. They would also call her "Grandma" and refer to her house as "Hagengarten." Taking care of and spending time with her grandchildren was when Nancy was the happiest. Nancy loved her family with her whole heart and would make each one of her kids and grandkids feel special in their own way. On April 9, 2022, Nancy went to be with her Lord and Savior after a brief battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bob, their children: Eric (Carrie) Hagen, Stephanie (Mike) Moore, Krista Hagen, and Andrea Hagen; grandchildren: Kyle Sweet, Riley Hagen, Madison Moore, Qinlan Hagen, Tristan Stopcynski, and Michael Moore; Siblings: Tom Russo and Toni (Scott) McNeil; sister-in-law, Christine (Marvin) Beeson-Rosen; nieces and nephews: Tom (Stella) Martin, Stacy Beeson, Alan Beeson, Billy (Zena) Beeson, and Thom Russo; and many great nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Gaetano (Tony) and Iva Russo, and niece Amy Weatherbee. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. For lasting memorial, please make a donation to your church or favorite charity in Nancy's name. Arrangements entrusted to The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442. Share memories with the family at www.sytsemafh.com.
