Nora Jane Bearden Bowen, age 86, of Gadsden, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022. The family will receive friends at Collier Butler Funeral Home from 10 AM until 12pm on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, Followed by a graveside service at Crestwood Cemetery. Rev. Jason Ellen will officiate. Collier Butler will direct services. Mrs. Bowen was a member of the Church at Wills Creek and had worked many years as a secretary at Coosa Christian School. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Ray Bowen; parents Chester and Nessie Bearden; and four brothers. Mrs. Bowen is survived by her son , Steve (Aletha) of Ft. Payne and Brian (Lisa) of Glencoe; grandchildren, Kim (Nick), Wesley (Jasmine), and Bradley all of Glencoe, Madison (Kayla) of Huntsville, and Landry of Ft. Payne; great grandchildren Brielle, Hudson, Maze, and Bryson all of Glencoe, and Dallas of Huntsville; sisters Joline Uptain and Brenda (Ray) Daniel of Sardis; Nieces Wanda Parker, Angela (Kerry) Gilliland and Alyssa (Jimmy) Hanson; as well as many other family members and friends. The family would like to thank the caring staff of Amedisys hospice; caregivers Cammy Battles, Selena Morton, Scarlett Ledbetter, Deborah Goddard, and Christal Whitmore; and the staff of Mountain Cove. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Amedisys Hospice, 115 West Grand Ave., Suite 70, Rainbow City, AL 35906.
