Daniel (Danny) Moore went to his heavenly home to be with family, friends and loved ones on August 2, 2021 after a long illness. He was 74 years old. He lived in Lakewood, Washington, for the past 40 years with his wife, Glenda Moore (Meador). Dan was born in Jackson County, North Carolina, on December 5, 1946, to William Wade Moore and Esther Lee Moore (Lanning). Dan moved with his family to Skagit Valley, Washington, at the age of approximately three and spent most of his childhood on Samish Island. After Wade's death, Esther married George Bowen who was his stepfather for much of his life. Dan and Glenda married in 1981 and were together for 40 loving years. In his younger years, Dan was a merchant marine, then he was a crab fisherman and then a salmon fisherman on a purse seiner. He also travelled extensively. He later worked at various other jobs and cared for his sons, Michael Wade and Joshua Charles. Dan was a learner. He spent many hours reading historical and biblical books and, later spent many hours on the internet, which opened up a much larger world of information to fill his curiosity, with lots of time also enjoying playing various internet games with people who became lifelong friends. He was well versed in history and biblical times and many other subjects. He is survived by his wife, Glenda, his son, (Michael) Wade Moore, living in Texas, and by his sons, Richard Moore and Anthony Moore, of Bellingham, and his daughter, Julia Parker (Moore) of Bellingham, from a former marriage. He has six grandchildren from Bellingham and four step grandchildren in Texas. He is also survived by his sisters, Betty Loy (Moore) and Debbie Fullerton (Moore) and many nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Joshua Charles Moore, his mother, Esther Lee Bowen, his father, William Wade Moore, and his stepfather, George Bowen, his brother, Lee Earl Moore and his sisters Wada Lou Garner (Moore) and Barbara Esary (Moore) and several nieces and nephews. He also had many lifelong friends, both in the Lakewood area and in the Skagit Valley area. He will be cremated and later will be buried at Bow Cemetery near his son and mother.
