GENEVA JANELLI

Geneva Faye Jannelli

(nee Baker)

Of Wilmington, DE and formerly of Hopewell Township, Bridgeton, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 4, 2008, surrounded by her family.

Geneva was the widow of Sebastian (Ben) J. Jannelli, who passed away in 2003. The 2 shared over 58 happy years of life together. Born in Terre Haute, IN, Geneva's Scots-Irish ancestors were one of the first families to settle in what would later become Kentucky during the mid 1700s. Records show that, years later, her ancestors would go on to fight in the Civil War. Geneva moved to Bridgeton, NJ during WWII, where she met her husband and lived most of her life. She was a member of the Millville Assembly of God Church and served many years with her husband as a greeter. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and a loyal friend. She had a smile made of sunshine and a heart of solid gold. She will be missed dearly.

Geneva is survived by her sons, Carmen and his wife JoAnn of Bridgeton, NJ, Douglas and his wife Donna of Jacksonville, FL, and Dr. Richard Jannelli and his wife Eva of Wilmington, DE. She had 9 grandchildren (Benny and Yianni of Wilmington, DE); 6 great-grandchildren; a brother and sister in Indiana; a brother-in-law and 2 sisters-in-law in New Jersey; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Tuesday morning, January 8, at the FREITAG FUNERAL HOME, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton, NJ. The viewing will be the same morning, starting at 9:30 am, at the funeral home. The burial will take place at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, the family feels that Geneva would have wanted her friends to go out with their loved ones for a special meal in her memory. Everyone who knew her knew how much she appreciated good times and loving memories...Donations may also be made in Geneva's name to Delaware Hospice3515 Silverside Rd. #100, Wilmington, DE 198810.
