Douglas E. Miller (Mr. Dug), 45, of South Bend, died in his home surrounded by family and friends on Saturday, April 9, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. Doug was born on May 23, 1976 in South Bend to the late Donald Miller and Gail (Goodridge) Miller, who survives.

Also surviving are his sisters Cheryl (Vince) Pryor of Orland Park, IL and Laura (Chris) Scott of Mishawaka, IN; brother Kevin (Kathy) Miller of Buffalo, NY, 3 nieces Katie (Peter) Kavouris, Sarah (Justin) Hoffman, Emmarose Scott and one nephew, Owen Scott; as well as a great niece, Eva Kavouris.

Doug grew up in South Bend, and graduated from St. Joe High School in 1994 and from Purdue University in 1998 with a degree in history. He worked for Campfire Boys and Girls and worked at Camp Tannadoonah, where he was Director from 2002-2005. Doug taught history at St. Joe High School for 10 years where he also directed many plays and musicals, and was presented with the Light of Learning Award in 2014. Most recently, he worked for Cardinal Health.

Doug was a movie lover, and a wealth of useless knowledge, allowing him to dominate at all things trivia. He loved his friends, whether it was hosting pool parties, playing fantasy football, or enjoying a guy's week away at the lake. He enjoyed every moment he spent with family, especially his nieces and nephew who brought him the utmost joy. Doug loved a good party, and truly made a positive impact on everyone he encountered.
