Nancy Lynne McCool, 61 of Jamestown, New York passed away March 31, 2022 from complications of heart failure. She was born November 6, 1960 in Jamestown, New York. Nancy graduated from Estancia High School in Costa Mesa, CA in 1978. She also attended Jamestown Public Schools for the majority of her schooling. She received a Bachelor's of Arts in Literature from SUNY Fredonia in 2004. Nancy is survived by her daughter Amie Doyle (Gregory Doyle) and grandchildren Andrew and James; and her son Jeremy LaMantia (Amy Berner), and grandson Jude. She is also survived by her mother Audrey Shelgren, and brothers Jeffrey McCool (JoEllen), Michael McCool and Kevin McCool (Jocelyn Bailey). She is predeceased by her father John Rolland McCool and stepfather Milton Shelgren.

She was a writer by education who enjoyed both reading and writing literature. An avid reader, she enjoyed delving deep for her research into the short stories she was writing. She enjoyed astronomy and loved to search the heavens while camping in the local forests. Halloween was her most favorite holiday and she loved to dress up and hand out candy to children each year. She spent a considerable amount of her own children's youth as a den mother for the local boy scout troop and was active in her church at that time as a Sunday School teacher. Nancy's most passionate advocacy was for Rylund, and his two sisters Kiela and Jade. She became involved with the family not long after the children's birth, becoming much like a surrogate mother and a beacon of stability in their lives. A lover of cats, she never met a stray that she did not take home and care for as part of her pride.

Arrangements entrusted to Riccardi's Hubert Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be private, and held in the summertime at Myrtle Cemetery in Poland, New York.
