NO STONE

Lucinda Spry, 2820 Missouri Ave in Joplin, MO., passed away at her home of complications of nephritis. She was 75 years old. She was the wife of Charley Spry.

Marriage to Charles Spry, Dec 9, 1864, at age 22, in Schuyler County, Missouri

Note
Her dc states she was buried in Oak Hill, but the Oak Hill listings do not show her name listed. In the earlier part of the 1900's many people were buried on the very north end of Oak Hill Cemetery, which was actually the county burying grounds and was referred to as the "pauper's cemetery"
Unfortunately, the boundaries of both cemeteries were not distinguished until many years later. The local undertakers always referred to the potter's field at Oak Hill and so listed it as such on the dc's. The actual name Jasper County Commissions designated for the cemetery is Woodlawn.
Most names are unknown that are buried in this location and only a very few have stones to mark the graves.
The death certificate can be viewed online at Missouri Digital Archives/death certificates online website.
