Willard Calvin "Woody" Snyder, 90, of Tiffin, died at 7:20 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2022, at his residence.

He was born July 13, 1931 in Seneca County, to William H. and Irene (Feasel) Snyder. He married Betty Jane Biller June 11, 1952, in Caseeta, Georgia, and she survives.

Other survivors include two sons, James A. (Bonnie) Snyder and Daniel R. Snyder; a daughter, Deborah (Stephen) Weber all of Tiffin; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Snyder of Bowling Green; and a sister, Barbara Shaffer of Denver CO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Eric Snyder, son, Calvin Snyder, five brothers, William, Chester, Percy, Arnold, and Brooks Snyder; five sisters, Pauline, Donna Jean, Betty J, Dorothy, and an infant sister.

Woody was a Bettsville High School graduate. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952- 1953 and in the Ohio National Guard for 16 years. He retired July 1985, after being employed for 35 years at Basic Refractories. He was also a fire fighter and an E.M.T. for 35 years. When Woody's children were little they went camping every weekend that he had off. He helped to make popcorn balls every week to sell at the fire department. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.

Visitation for family and friends will be 9 – 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St. Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Marilyn Coney officiating. Entombment will take place following the service in Seneca Memory Mausoleum. The United Veterans Council of Seneca County will perform a military service at the cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the United Veteran's Council or to a charity of the donor's choice.
