Wade Hampton Clark, 45, of Cove, Texas, passed away on April 6, 2022. He was born in Dayton, Texas on February 16, 1977 to Kendon and Genie Clark of Cove.
Wade was an employee of the Barbers Hill Independent School District. He served as a council member for The City of Cove for eight years, and also filled the role of Mayor Pro-Tem for most of his terms. He was a former member of the Cove Fire Department and was an active member of the Cove Church of Christ.
Wade loved the marshes and waterways of his native Cove, and could often be found out in his boat or walking through the many trails. He loved to explore The Anahuac Wildlife Refuge, the JJ Mayes Trace and the Baytown Nature Center. In addition to his love of the outdoors, he had an avid interest in history and spent many happy hours at the San Jacinto Battleground.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Manson and Elmyra Clark of Cove, and Aubrey and Imogene Brooke of Mont Belvieu.
He is survived by his parents and brothers Jeff (Stephanie) Clark and Brett (Stephanie J.) Clark as well as nieces and nephews Katie (Jonathan) Skains, Koby (Gretchen) Clark, James (Becca) Kelemen, Beau Chachere, Levi Clark, Dakota Evans, Lainey Clark and Brooks Clark. He is also survived by his aunt, Anita Ratliff.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 11 5:00 to 8:00 PM, at Navarre Funeral Home on Rollingbrook Drive in Baytown. Services will be on Tuesday, April 12 at 1:00 at Navarre Funeral Home with Mr. Leroy Stevens of the Cove Church of Christ officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Clark, Brett Clark, Tyler Ratliff, James Kelemen, Koby Clark and Jimmy Hook. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Morris, Jackie Griffis, Beau Chachere and Freeman McKay.
