Samuel Harmon Mullins Sr.

Services for Samuel Harmon Mullins Sr., 99, of Carrollton, who died of heart failure Saturday, June 4, 2005, at his home, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Lee Funeral Home in Winona.

Mr. Mullins was a retired farmer and construction worker. He was a veteran of World War II who received several medals during his military service. He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Wilbur and Willie Clementine Johnson Mullins; four sisters, Etta Louise Heckle, Grace Carver, Ora Bell Perkins and Willie Mae Long; and three brothers, Stanley Mullins, James Mullins and Charles Willard Mullins.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Nolan Mullins of Carrollton; three daughters, Opal Caffey and Jane Utroska, both of Grenada, and Sandra McKee of Spring, Texas; two sons, Buster Mullins and Stanley "Sugar" Mullins, both of North Carrollton; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

The Rev. Leon Holly and the Rev. Gary Tanner will officiate at the services.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Stacy James, Lee Herbert, Brad Carver, Trey Mullins, Taylor Mullins and Odie Collins Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church adult Sunday School class.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 this evening at the funeral home.
