Mary J. Harrison was born April 19, 1926 in Indianapolis, IN. She was the daughter of the late Ruth Crenshaw Hughes Moore and Ira Hughes. she joins her sisters; Florine Coffee and Janet Hughes ; and one brother, William Hughes, in land of the Heavenly Father.

She graduated from Crispus Attucks High School, a proud member of the class of 1944. She was a loyal member of Mount Paran Baptist Church, a Member of Mt. Paran's Kings Daughters and the Nursing board. Amongst a plethora of other titles, she has held.

Mary worked at Naval Avionics dedicating 27 years of her life, retiring in February 1995. She was a Lawrence Township Trustee Officer and a loyal Democratic Party member serving as an election pole worker for 30 years.

Mary loved to travel, she loved to take lake cruises. She was an avid golfer, she loved crossword puzzles and playing cards and a hoist of other things. She was a member of Douglas Park Golf Club.

Mary departed this life March 18, 2022 in Tampa, FL. She leaves behind her only child, Sharon Harrison, and her grandchildren, Brian Harrison, Tiara Harrison and Kristin Harrison. As granny would say Krissy, Kokaoa Harrison and a great grandson Ramod Williams and as hist of nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and her church family.

A visitation for Mary will be held Friday April 15, 2022 from 10 am to 12 noon at Crown Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 700 W. 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208, followed by a celebration of life service at 12 noon.
