Professional football player. After graduating from Saugus High School, he played end for Boston College. He was taken in the fifteenth round of the NFL draft by the Baltimore Colts in 1950. The Colts switched him to left guard in 1950. He left the Colts to serve in the Army during the Korean War. In 1953 he returned to the Colts from the Cleveland Browns in a trade. He played in two Pro Bowl games and was voted All-Pro in 1959 during a nine-year NFL career. He retired from playing after the 1960 season. He spent a few years as an offensive line coach in the NFL. He was a public relations official for the Massachusetts Port Authority from 1974 until he died of a heart attack in Lynn, Massachusetts. Arthur F. Spinney, Jr. was inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Hall of Fame in 1972.
