She was born on December 4, 1932 in Sharyland, Texas to Bryan and Emma Clara (Campbell) Scott.
Claryce spent her entire career being a Teacher in Victoria and in Floresville. Claryce taught various Sunday School classes and served on various committees at First Baptist Church of Floresville, Texas. One of her favorite ministries was sending out handmade birthday cards, sympathy cards, and get-well cards. She loved teaching and taught kids from 2nd grade through high school. She loved reading, cooking, sewing, gardening, and crafting; but nothing compared to how much she loved being with her family and traveling with husband, Joe.
Claryce was preceded in death by her parents, Bryan and Emma Scott; son, Bryan Holcombe and wife Karla; grandson, Marc "Danny" Holcombe; granddaughter-in-law, Crystal Holcombe; great-grandchildren, Greg, Emily, and Megan Hill, Carlin Holcombe, and Noah Holcombe; and brother, Charles Scott.
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years who referred to her as his Love Bird, Joe M. Holcombe; daughter, JoCheryl Holcombe; grandchildren, Amber Gaynor, John Holcombe, Sarah Slavin, and Bryan Scott Holcombe; great-grandchildren, Philip Hill, Reina Holcombe, Ryan Holcombe, Evelyn Hill, and Elene Slavin; nephew, Ronald Scott and wife Ruth; nieces, Debra Scott and Jacki Scott.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at the First Baptist Church of Floresville and the Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. that same morning at the church. Pastor Mike Clements will officiate the services. Interment will follow at Floresville City Cemetery.
