Mark Alan Holt, age 70, passed away from cancer on April 5, 2022 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in his hometown of Columbus, Ohio. Class of 1969 graduate of Columbus South High School, Mark went on to serve 4 years in the United States Navy as a corpsman in the Vietnam War. Upon his honorable discharge, he joined the Columbus Fire Department where he served as a firefighter and paramedic for 33 years. During his time on Columbus Fire he studied Biology at Ohio Dominican University, and then nursing at Columbus State Community College. He became an RN in 1992, and worked full time at OhioHealth Doctors Hospital up until his passing. He was preceded in death by his father Charles Holt, and his brother Craig Holt.

A lifelong hockey fan, he supported the Boston Bruins and the Columbus Blue Jackets where he held season tickets for 20 years. Mark was a music enthusiast, and a member of the Columbus Maennerchor (men's choir). In his free time, Mark enjoyed having a cold beer at Harry Buffalo in Westerville, watching movies or Fox news with his dog Fiona, and traveling to Key West, Florida with friends and family. A devoted service member, friend, and father, Mark touched many lives while he was here, and will be missed dearly.
