Obituary for Carolyn Ann Taylor Griffin

Carolyn Taylor Griffin, 77, died peacefully on Friday, April 8, 2022 at Duke Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. She was a life-long Episcopalian and a graduate of Women's College and she received her Masters Degree from UNC, Chapel Hill. Carolyn was a teacher for 37 years in Atlanta, Durham, Rocky Mount, and Nash County. She loved horses and she fox hunted in the U.S. and in Ireland. She traveled to many places including Greece, Turkey and the Greek Islands. Carolyn earned her Life Master Rating at Bridge from the ACBL. Carolyn enjoyed walking her dog, Dory. She loved to read and she loved the coast and enjoyed spending her time at the family home in Beaufort, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents Clifton Linwood and Isabel Wilson Taylor; brother Clifton Linwood Taylor, Jr.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years A. Glenn Griffin, Jr. of their home; a son Judge Jefferson Glenn Griffin and his wife Katye and their son Jefferson Glenn Griffin , Jr., all of Pine Knoll Shores, NC; a niece Katherine Taylor Jonak of Suffolk , Va.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home. Visitation with family and friends to follow.
