Dale W. Means, age 72, of Glenwood Drive, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at Geauga Hospital. The son of Russell and Mildred (Murdock) Means, he was born May 17, 1941, in Jefferson, Ohio, and has been an area resident all of his life. Dale was a Veteran of the US Marine Corps serving during the Vietnam Era and was a member of the American Legion. He was also active with the Beagle Club in both Summit and Portage Counties, and was a HAM Radio operator. Above everything else, Dale loved his family and was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Leskovec) Means; daughters, Kimberly Means and Heather (Rahman) Long; grandchildren, Reneldo (fiancée, Jennifer Schmidt) Young Jr., Natasha Long and Michael Kahler; great-grandchild, Channing Young; and siblings, Clyde (Shirley, deceased) Means, Doris (Fred) Hinkle, Ethel (Leon, deceased) Hunt, Robert (Linda) Means, Ronald (Judy) Means and Cliff (Virginia) Means. Dale is also survived by several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Dale was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Edwin and John. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 26th, at the United Church, 75 South Broadway, Geneva, Ohio, with Pastor Bryan Manary, officiating. There will be no calling hours.
