Ellen Mae Belle Ward, 85, of Drain, Oregon passed away March 28, 2022, in Springfield, Oregon. Ellen was born July 5, 1936, in Lincoln County, Nebraska to parents Merlyn and Nellie Zevieffel Morrison. She married Robert Ward March 23, 1953 in Cottage Grove, Oregon. Ellen received her associates degree and was a Special Education teacher's assistant and loved every one of her students. She was also a homemaker raising her 5 children. Ellen loved sewing, quilting, crocheting and hardanger needlepoint. She was a lifelong reader and learner, but most of all Ellen loved spending time with her family. Ellen is survived by her son Kenneth Ward of Drain, OR; son Stephan (Heather) Ward of Spokane, WA; daughter Susan (Shane) Rasmussen of Natchitoches, LA; daughter Jennifer (Jason) Fain of Drain, OR; brother Ray Morrison of Yoncalla, OR; sister Dorothy Brenden of Athens, GA; sister Sharon Rott of Eugene, OR; daughter-in-law Shannon Ward; 19 grandchildren, 7 great-granchildren, and 2 great-great-granchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Ward, JR, son Paul Ward and 1 grandchild. A viewing will be held at Cottage Groves Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Saturday, April 16, 2022, at 12:00 PM in the relief society room, funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM. Interment will be at East Drain Cemetery, at 2:30 PM. A potluck celebration will be following burial at the Drain Civic Center.
