Dennis L. Brubaker, 80, of Stoneridge Poplar Run retirement community in Myerstown, PA, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 19.
Born in Ephrata, PA, he was the son of the late Mark B. Brubaker and Phyllis A. (Fry) Brubaker. He was the husband of Faye E. (Sterner) Brubaker with whom he celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on December 13, 2021.
Dennis graduated from Myerstown High School and was a member of the 1957 PA State soccer championship team. He also lettered in basketball and baseball. He was employed by the Lebanon Plant of Bethlehem Steel in the Industrial Engineering Department until its closure in 1984. He then worked for C.J. Wagner, Inc. of Myerstown as the sales office manager and notary until his retirement. Dennis was a member of the Myerstown Church of the Brethren where he taught Sunday School for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, and training field trial beagles. He was a previous secretary of the Lebanon County Beagle Club and finished four field trial champions.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Barry L. Brubaker of Ringgold, GA and Dale M. Brubaker (Karen) of Fayetteville, GA; and a daughter, Beth A. Perry (Bruce) of Leicester, NY; 7 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; and a sister Priscilla Michael-Enck of Litiz, PA. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra A. Brubaker; a brother, Mark Brent Brubaker; a daughter-in-law, Linda M. Brubaker; and a brother-in-law, Dudley E. Michael.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Myerstown Church of the Brethren, preceded by a visitation beginning at 1 p.m. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family.
