He was a U.S. World War II Navy veteran and retired owner of Collins and Son Garage in Obetz. He was Past Master of Groveport Masonic Lodge #240 F&AM, Royal Arch Mason of Walnut Chapter#172 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley 32nd Degree, Aladdin Temple Shrine, past chairman of the Obetz Cemetery Board, former Hamilton Twp. Volunteer Fireman 1949-1981, and Hamilton Twp. School Bus Driver 1950-1981. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee Johnson Collins. Surviving are his daughter, Lori Lee (Eric) Mescher of Columbus; son, Edward Lee Collins of Obetz; grandchildren, Tate and Derrick Ratlif, Sarah Albert Collins, and Mason Mescher; and great grandchildren, Ryder and Pyper Mescher, Tanner, Alexis, Zander and Anna Ratlif, and Zachary Blankenship.
