Nancy Castleman Walker of Buffalo Springs passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at the age of 84. Born in Winchester, Virginia on September 21, 1937, Nancy was the daughter of Stewart and Iva Castleman. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Pauline Boyce, Robert Castleman, Katherine Wine, and Charlotte Bauserman. She also rejoins her husband, Ted Walker, to whom she was married for sixty-two years. Nancy is survived by her sister, Janet Russell, as well as her three children: Kim Walker Rush and husband Paul, Edward A. "Alex" Walker and wife Leisa, and Pam Walker. She had four grandchildren - Austin Walker, Ginny Crane, Gabe Rush, and Grace Rush - and one great-grandson, Redford Crane.

Nancy and Ted were married on Christmas Day, 1958. She drove a bus for Mecklenburg County Schools and worked in the Clarksville Elementary School cafeteria for twenty years, and worked as a dispatcher for Freightway Express Trucking for another twenty-eight.

Above all, Nancy was a devoted mother to her three children, often raising them by herself during the week while Ted was away building roads and bridges across Virginia.

Nancy remained an avid reader throughout her life and enjoyed doing word puzzles in her spare time. She was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother, fondly remembered for sending everyone home with a smile and a plateful of leftovers.
