He was proud of the fact that he was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the 1st Calvary. He married Miss Barbara Sue Koone on February 23, 1968, at St. Joe. He worked for Claridge Products in the wood shop for several years. He was a member of Pyatt Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for many years. When he was younger, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, he enjoyed a good political debate with family and enjoyed cruising in his old cars, he called "chick magnets." He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jerry K. Willis; a sister, Kimi Beeman; and a granddaughter, Kaicee Willis.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sue Willis of Harmon; a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Terri Willis of Harrison; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Steven Cunningham of Eros, and Heather and Doug Block of Harrison; eight grandchildren, Megan Hopper (Brandon) of Harmon, Monica Bailey (Nick) of Jonesboro, Zack Cunningham of Western Grove, and Kailee Willis, Ethan Block, Dylan Block, Kessa Willis, and Kajer Willis, all of Harrison; three great-grandchildren, Nolan Bailey, Cash Willis, and Arlo Bailey; a brother and sister-in-law, Bennie and Vicki Willis of Pindall; numerous nephews and nieces; and other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Beckham Cemetery in Marion County, officiated by the Rev. Eldon Hellums and the Rev. Mark Vance. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army. Arrangements are under the direction of Holt Memorial Chapel.
Active pallbearers will be Ethan, Dylan, and Doug Block, Zack and Steven Cunningham, Cole Rogers, and Kajer Willis. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Pyatt Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Friday, April 8th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend a very special "Thank You" to Legacy Hospice, Hillcrest Home, and Harrison Dialysis, for the excellent care given to Ronnie.
