Died: In Ellery, April 7, 1876, at the residence of her son-in-law, William B. Haviland, Esq. Mrs. Martha B. Jones, relict of Festus Jones deceased, aged 77 years and five months.
She was the daughter of Samuel Young and was born November 6th, 1798 in the state of Vermont. She removed with her father's family, to Ellery in 1816, and was married to Festus Jones, March 28, 1822, by the late Abijah Clark Esq., and lived for some time at Bemus Point. She was the mother of six children, two sons, both dead, and four daughters, two living in Ellery and two at Dewittville.
She and Mrs. Jerusha Hale (who died April 6, 1876) had lived near neighbors for many years, and their regard and esteem for each other was of the most kind and friendly nature, and long will both be mourned by their families and friends.
