He was born on March 25, 1929 in Peshtigo, WI to the late Herman and Martha (Klenitz) Kamin. On June 28, 1952, he was united in marriage to Doris Richey at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Deerbrook. She preceded him in death on March 5, 2012.
Curly served for the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army from 1947-1950. He worked as a certified welder and worked for Greenheck, Drott, JI Case, and Mattoon Veneer Mill.
Curly was an active member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Deerbrook. He enjoyed reading, fishing, and hunting and loved both watching and reading Westerns.
Survivors include two daughters, Luanne Christenson of Antigo and Loreen (Rod) of Merrill, 2 sons, Leslie of Antigo and Linn (Jennifer) of Aberdeen, SD, sister Lydia, brothers Herbert and Norman, 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
In addition to his parents and wife, Curly was preceded in death by sons, Larry Kamin and Leroy Kamin, sisters Gerdy and Minnie, and brothers Alvin, Harvey, and Irvin.
A memorial service for Curly will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Radke officiating. Visitation will take place at the funeral home, prior to the service, from 9:30-11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery in Kempster at a later date.
