Frank DeBord, 88, prominent retired farmer of this community and for a number of years a resident of Peoria, passed away last Thursday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mable Gelling of near Monica, where he and his wife had recently been living.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Bullock funeral home, conducted by Rev. A. H. Northdurft, assisted b Rev. John Bliss brother-in-law of the deceased, who offered prayer. Interment was in the Princeville cemetery.
Frank DeBord son of Reuben and Julia Hall DeBord was born 3½ miles northwest of Princeville April 27, 1854.
A large part of his long life was lived on his farm near the village. His parents were among the early settlers of this community. Only two are living of his father's family—Fred of Maitland, Mo. and Hattie of Peoria.
Mr. DeBord was married to Matilda Bliss, daughter of Solomon and Elizabeth Blanchard Bliss, in February 1881. Eight children were born to that union. Pearl, Ola and Edward preceded him in death. Those living are Mrs. Flora Gourley of Peoria, Charles of Toulon, Frank of Deer Creek, Fred of Morton and Mrs. Gelling of Monica. There are 12 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
