Newark - Gwendolyn M. "Gwen" Robinson of Newark, DE passed away with her children by her side on Saturday, March 19, 2022.
Gwen was born in Clarksville, Tennessee on November 23, 1947, to the late Sara Finch and Melvin P. Hopkins. She graduated from Bloom High School in Chicago Heights, Illinois.
In 1967, Gwen married the love of her life, the late William Robinson, Sr. and they had two children. Gwen was predeceased by her loving husband in 1984.
Gwen is survived by her children William Robinson, Jr. of Newark, Delaware, and Kimberly Harford (Rhondey) of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Gwen has four grandsons: Dontay, Mason, Preston and Grayson all of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Gwen is survived by her brother, Michael Finch (Wylene) of Colorado and her sister, Carolyn Finch of Illinois. Gwen is survived by a host of family and friends. Gwen was predeceased in death by her three brothers, Ronald, Donald, and Kenneth.
Gwen was a retired administrated assistant for Christiana Care Health System after over 30 years of service. Gwen was an avid Eagles fan. She loved cheering for "her" Eagles.
A funeral service celebrating Gwen's life will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, with a viewing 10:00-11:45 am. Service beginning at 12 pm at Congo Funeral Home 2317 N. Market Street, Wilmington, DE 19805. Private Interment will take place at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, Delaware.
