C. Fred Deuel, lifelong resident of St. Petersburg, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2022, his wife of 61 years, Mary Lou, having predeceased him in 2014.

Born February 24, 1927, Fred graduated from St Petersburg High School in 1944. He served in the Navy before receiving his Engineer of Mines degree from Colorado School of Mines in 1949, where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) fraternity. In 1954, he started his own Civil Engineering and Land Surveying business, C. Fred Deuel & Associates, where he remained until his retirement in 2006. Fred served on numerous local and county boards as well as the FSPLS.

Having grown up on Big Bayou, he was an avid sailor, racing his 30 foot boat Madonna from St Petersburg to Isla Mujeres, Mexico in the Regatta del Sol al Sol for 24 years. He was a longtime member of the St Petersburg Yacht Club, having joined at age 13 and becoming commodore in 2007.

He is a founding member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, where he was an usher and volunteer for St. Vincent de Paul.

He is survived by four children; Lynn Bland, Leslie Curran, Tracy Deuel and Chris Deuel; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and his beloved Rudy.

Friends will be received Monday, April 11th from 10 - 11am, at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 1600 54th Ave S. Funeral Mass at 11:00. Entombment to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
