He was a history buff, and enjoyed riding four-wheelers, shooting guns, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include; loving wife of 23 years: Terri Thompson of the home; one son: David William Thompson, Jr. of the home; two daughters: Ashley Boling (Brandon) of Paragould, Arkansas, Kaitlyn Thompson of the home; three sisters: Denise Baker of Bay, Arkansas, Monica Monihan of Florida, Tammy Berrage of Michigan; two brothers: Curtis Silvis of Michigan, Darryl Baker (Michelle) of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas; three grandchildren; Aubrey Wallace, Braylon and Bentley Boling; one nephew: Brantley Baker; step mother: Katherine Price of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and a host of other family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at Arkansas State Veteran Cemetery in Birdeye, Arkansas on March 25, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.
