Doris was a graduate from Mary C. Womack, class of 1963; over her educational journey, she also attended Southside Elementary and Maggie B. Hudson, Jr. High School.
Ms. Watson was a proud member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, in Longview, Texas, where she has attended since she was a child; while serving there she was member of the choir and she attended Sunday school.
Over the years, Doris worked as a sales associate at Bealls and Dillards. She completed her working journey at Longview ISD, after 30 years. Doris worked in many positions throughout her duration at Longview ISD, including teacher's aide, bus driver, switchboard operator, and a substitute teacher. Ms. Watson, affectionately known by students of LISD, was known as one of the Lobos top fans; she could be found at every game the Lobos played, including the State Championship Game in 2018. Outside of attending football games, she also enjoyed gardening and she was a very good cook; she was the owner of the Watson Family Restaurant.
Ms. Watson will be missed by many people, but she has left a legacy of love and a multitude of memories to be embraced by her daughter, Lisa Watson-Wrighten; son, Billy J. Watson, Jr.; dog, Bella; grandsons, Larry (LaKeshela) Wrighten, Lance (Lesheka) Wrighten; siblings, Bobby (Linda) White, Opal (Bobby) Carter, James Redden, Sr., and Billy J. White; and a host of other relatives and friends.
