Steven Lon Knott, 56 of Zearing, died Saturday, April 2, 2022, at his home near Zearing.
Steve was born July 21, 1965, in Des Moines, the son of Donald Dean and Janice Lee (Fuller) Knott. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1983 and from Ellsworth Community College with a degree in Farm Management. On June 24, 1989, Steve was united in marriage to Michelle Cashman, in Monticello.
Steve was dedicated to his job, working many years for JBS Pork. He was a member of the Nevada Masonic Lodge #99 and enjoyed spending time with his family, working on his acreage, target shooting, and riding dirt bikes.
Steve is survived by his wife, Michelle Knott of Nevada; his son, Ryan (Sarah Kelly) Knott of Des Moines; his daughter, Trisha Knott of Zearing, and his faithful canine child, Ivy; his parents, Don and Janice Knott of Nevada; his in-laws, Maurie (Rosemary) Cashman, Mike Cashman, Maria (Darci Axmear) Cashman, Monica (Henry) Camarin and Meg (John) Anthofer. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lisa Anderson and father-in-law, Maurice Cashman.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family to be divided between several charities important to Steve.
A visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada. A Masonic service will be at 7 p.m. A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2022, also at the funeral home with Pastor David Burling officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Jackson Township Cemetery in Owasa, Iowa.
