Bob was born May 25, 1938 in Perry, Oklahoma. He was raised by Whitey and Lizzy (Knight) Cox. He grew up in Oklahoma and moved to California at age 12. Bob graduated from Artesia High School, Lakewood, California and attended college in Pasadena, California. Bob married Sandi Bumstead on November 27, 1976 in Olathe, Kansas. He was a great salesman, working hard his entire life to provide for his family. Bob worked for Sunrise Nursery and Brigg Sod Farm for 35 years. Bob owned and operated Bob Dale and Son Homegrown Produce for over 40 years. He attended auctioneer school, attending and auctioneering at Stricker's Auction in Gardner for 40 plus years. Bob enjoyed sports and loved watching the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. He was a loyal fan of Spring Hill High School youth sports activities. In his younger days, Bob was a Golden Gloves boxer and played football in the Junior Rose Bowl during college. He loved to gamble and played poker in the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, Nevada. Bob also fought chickens all over the world in his younger days. Bob lived in Spring Hill for over 55 years and was a past Grand Marshall of the Spring Hill Parade. Bob never met a stranger and loved spending time with family and friends. He was a great story teller and an eternal optimist who will be sorely missed by all that knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Tom and James. Bob is survived by his wife, Sandi; daughter Tammy (Tyrone), Norco, California; sons Ray, Minneapolis, Minnesota and Bobby (Carrie), Paola, Kansas and grandchildren: Tanner, Travis, McKenna, Emma, Hailey, Kayleigh and Rileigh.
