Obituary of James "Jim" Edwin Briles
James "Jim" Edwin Briles was born January 8, 1934 in Bell California. Sadly, Jim passed away on April 3, 2022 with his family by his side. A Celebration of Life Service for Jim is pending.

Shortly after high school, Jim proudly joined the Army to defend his country. In 1963, Jim met the love of his life, Marilyn Case while working with her father. They were married in 1967. Together they raised a close family. In 1994, Jim and Marilyn moved to Louisiana to be close to their children. During his career he worked as a diesel mechanic on heavy equipment. After retirement, he began working with wood and made beautiful pieces. Many of his pieces were given at Christmas time to children in need.

Waiting for Jim in Heaven are his parents, Emmett and Mary Briles; and brother, Bill Briles. Left to cherish many years of precious memories are his wife of 54 years; Marilyn Briles; daughters, Sharon Burgess and husband Jack, Donna Vanwestrienen and husband Darreld, Patricia Holland and husband Patrick; sons, Earl Riley and wife Olivia, and Carl Riley and wife Kim; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

Jim loved his family and was loved. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. His legacy will continue on in the hearts of all that knew him. He will be greatly missed.
