Obituary Gonzales Inquirer Aug. 24, 1978

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Seydler-Hill chapel for John D. Sedlacek, who died in the Holmes Community Hospital at 11:15 a.m. Monday.

The Rev. Walter Lentz of the First Lutheran Church, will conduct the services with burial to follow in the Odd Fellows cemetery.

Mr. Sedlacek was born in Shiner on January 26, 1899, the son of Frank and Annie Valicek Sedlacek, natives of Czechoslovak. He had lived in Gonzales for the past 41 years and had served as maintenance manager at the city cemetery for some 31 years. He was a member of the Lutheran ch and of the IOOF Lodge. He was married to Emma Ella Hurts on December 26, 1928, and the family home is at 204. One street.

Nephews will serve as pallbearer.
