Betty J. (Huffman) Bounds, 88, of Newark went home to be with her LORD April 3, 2022, with her family by her side. She was born April 1, 1934 to the late George M. and Mary (Flowers) Huffman in Newark, Ohio.

She married Charles D. Bounds on August 26, 1951. They shared nearly 70 years together. Charles passed away May 13, 2021.

Betty was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of God, where she served faithfully for many years in various capacities, two of her favorites being working with the children in Sunday School and Bible School. She always had a ready smile, was a friend to many, and didn't know a stranger.

She is survived by her daughters, Gail (John) Kramer of Hanover, Kathy (Sam) Caudill and Lois (Mark) Romine of Newark, five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, brothers-in-law, Robert Lee (Faye) Bounds of Australia, Dan(Nona) Bounds of Newark, sister-in-law, Camilla Shepherd of Newark and several nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her brother, George V. Huffman, son-in-law, Donald Strickler and granddaughter, Kimberly Kramer.

Visitation hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with the funeral following at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 8th at the Church of God on Riggs Rd. in Newark. Pastor Bro. Anthony Bartlette and grandson, Troy Romine will be officiating. Internment will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Newark, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation be made to the American Red Cross, local chapter or charity of your choice.
