DeLano, Charles Richard (Dick) 11/2/1932 - 1/17/2022 Ypsilanti, MI Charles Richard (Dick) DeLano 89, of Ypsilanti, Mi passed away Monday, January 17, 2022 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. He was born November 2, 1932 in Ypsilanti, the son of Charles A. DeLano and Harriet Brightbill Delano. A life long resident of Ypsilanti, he graduated from Ypsilanti High School in 1951. He Married his high school sweetheart Cora A. MacDonald on May 16, 1953. Dick was a master plumber, following in his father's footsteps and becoming the owner of DeLano Plumbing and Heating, and later working for and retiring from the University of Michigan. He was a devout Catholic and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was proceeded in death by his parents, sisters Kathryn Grant and Vivian Wingrove. He will be forever missed by his wife, Cora: brother Francis (Del); his 5 children Diane (Chris)Fawcett of St. Louis, MO, Michael (Jill) of Denver, CO, Jeffrey (Nancy) of Ann Arbor, Kristine (Derek) Hunt of Ypsilanti and Mark (Kam) of Milan. 9 grandchildren Louise (Chris), Joshua (Megan), Stacey (Robbie), Caitlin (Aaron) Andrew (Nisha), Ashely, Eamon, Lauryn, and Connor: and 8 great-grandchildren Maddison, Nevaeh, Abbie, Benjamin, Miranda, Vernon, Karter and Emmett. A family service will be held at a later date this year.
